"I had a good conversation with Oskar this morning and I believe that he needs a reset," Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault said Wednesday before the game. "I love the young man, but right now, his game and his energy level, what it seems to be, is not where it needs to be. So we're going to do a small, little reset here with him."

The Blackhawks might have their power-play quarterback of the future in Boqvist. Skating almost 16.5 minutes a game, nearly 3:30 of that time is coming on the man-advantage. After scoring a goal Saturday, the 20-year-old has picked up five points in his last seven games, including a pair of two-assist outings. With 13 points in 19 games overall, Boqvist has already matched his output from his entire rookie season (41 games), as he assumes the mantle of top dog in Chicago from Duncan Keith.

There have been numerous NHL players who attempted this move, such as Evgeny Kuznetsov, Filip Forsberg, Auston Matthews and Claude Giroux. But the first player to successfully pull it off in the NHL was Andrei Svechnikov of the Carolina Hurricanes back on Oct. 29, 2019 in a game against the Calgary Flames. The Hurricanes forward would actually score another “Michigan” over a month later against the Winnipeg Jets!
