The Burning Crusade Arrives In World Of Warcraft For The Second Time
A few months back, Blizzard accidentally leaked the fact that it was expanding on World of Warcraft Classic by actually adding in the first old expansion that eventually led up to where World of Warcraft is today. Of course, that starts with The Burning Crusade, which originally came out in 2007, but this also implies that Blizzard plans to eventually release Wath of the Lich King Classic, Cataclysm Classic, Mists of Panderia Classic, and so on and so forth. To get more news about

Whereas Warcraft Classic was this neat idea to capitalize on the nostalgia of a bajillion Warcraft fans, now it looks like there will just be two Warcrafts developing simultaneously but using code that’s 15 years apart. And perhaps 15 years from now, we’ll get Warcraft Double Classic where the game once again returns to its roots but for modern hardware.
That’s all speculation. For now, The Burning Crusade Classic is officially scheduled to arrive in World Of Warcraft Classic on June 1 at 6 PM EST / 3 AM PST. The Blizzard website doesn’t provide all the specifics of what exactly will arrive in The Burning Crusade Classic, but it will probably be the same as the first time around: Racial options will expand to include the Blood Elf and Draenei, new areas of The Outworld will be available to explore along with new dungeons, raids, and a PVP arena system.
Unlike back in 2007, players won’t have to pay to have their character upgraded to The Burning Crusade. All WoW Classic subscriptions include the new expansion, allowing you to use the Character Clone feature to have your character ready for the “new” expansion when it arrives in June. Or you can decline to clone your character for The Burning Crusade and keep them on the Classic Era servers.
Or for a small fee, you can have your character actually cloned to be available on both Classic Era and Burning Crusade servers. You just knew there’d be at least one microtransaction hiding in there somewhere.
As for the current Warcraft’s Chains of Domination patch, we still don’t know when that’s coming out, but we do know that it’ll bring a brand new timed run to Shadowlans’ Torghast dungeon.
